Perhaps it's time to practice together.

There has been a great deal said about Yoga Alliance, IAYT, and the future of yoga. Some of the conversations are necessary. Some are difficult. And many are asking questions that deserve thoughtful answers.

But somewhere in the midst of all these conversations, I found myself wanting to get quiet.

I wanted to move my body. Take a longer breath. Remember.

I don't presume to be anybody in the yoga world. I'm simply someone whose life was changed by movement, breath, and the practice of becoming present to the life I was living.

And I imagine I'm not alone.

Yoga gave me a pathway toward healing. It helped me inhabit my body more fully. Its teachings about truthfulness, non-harming, and non-grasping have continued to shape the way I live.

Those things remain, whatever happens within the organizations that seek to represent this work.

And I wonder whether there might be something good in remembering them together.

An hour together.

On Sunday afternoon, I'm opening my Zoom room to anyone in the yoga community who would like to come.

We'll make room for gentle movement, breathing, and quiet reflection.

I have no grand solution to offer. I don’t believe there is one.

But I do believe that when people return to something they have loved and practiced together, something becomes possible that arguments alone cannot accomplish.

Perhaps we'll remember something worth carrying forward.

Perhaps we'll begin to imagine what comes next.

There's room for you here.

Whether you've practiced yoga for decades, taught thousands of classes, worked as a yoga therapist, or stepped onto a mat for the very first time today, you're welcome.

Come as you are.
