You don’t need 30 minutes.
You don’t need silence you can’t find.
You don’t need to get it “right.”
You just need a moment—
to return, to notice, to be.
These simple practices aren’t meant to impress.
They’re meant to help you remember.
That God is still here. That you are still held.
That sacredness lives in even the smallest pause.
Let this be a place where practice becomes presence—
where the ordinary opens quietly.
The One-Breath Prayer
Sit. Inhale slowly. Whisper one word with the breath in—“Receive.”
Exhale. Whisper—“Release.” Repeat 3 times.
The 60-Second Stillness
Set a timer for one minute.
Close your eyes.
Simply be still.
Notice what stirs without needing to fix it.
Touching the Ground
Stand or sit with bare feet on the floor.
Notice the ground beneath you.
Say quietly, “Here I am.”
Open-Handed Prayer
Hold your hands open.
Visualize placing your worries into them.
Then imagine setting them down.
The Blessing Pause
Stop where you are.
Whisper: “Bless this moment. Bless this body. Bless this breath.”
A Candle and a Question
Light a candle (or imagine one).
Ask: What is mine to carry? What is not?
Breathing with the Psalms
Inhale: “Be still…”
Exhale: “…and know that I am God.”
Repeat 3–5 times.
A Walk Without a Goal
Step outside. Walk slowly.
Don’t track steps or think hard.
Let the walk be the prayer.
Hand to Heart
Place one hand over your heart.
One over your belly.
Breathe.
Say: “I’m still here. And that is enough.”
Noticing One Thing
Find one ordinary object around you.
Notice its texture, color, weight.
Let it become your anchor to now.
