What happens when we make room together?
I have sat with children and elders, with people in churches, boardrooms, places of care, and places of confinement. The rooms have been different. We begin by becoming present to ourselves, to one another, and to God. Sometimes we begin in silence or prayer.
In somatic work, we notice where we brace, how we breathe, and what we feel before we have words for it. A question on a page, a labyrinth underfoot, or color and texture in our hands gives us another way to listen. What we notice can shape how we care for one another beyond the room.
You can begin where you are. Some days it is hard to hear yourself think. You may be carrying grief, a question about God, an emotion you cannot quite name, or a tiredness that has settled into your body.
We can make enough room to notice what is here.
Come sit with me.
Spiritual direction and somatic work offer space to listen to your life as it is. We can attend to faith, grief, emotions, what your body is holding, or a difficult season you are trying to understand.
Make room together.
I love to gather people around quiet, prayer, making, and care for the places
where we live. Some gatherings may begin with yarn. All of them begin with attention.
I learned to crochet in November 2025, when my son was losing remission. One evening my daughter was teaching him, and I asked her to teach me, too. I began with a hook, some yarn, and one stitch I could manage. I lost my place and began again. As my hands found a rhythm, I began to wonder what was happening in me.
That question is shaping The Somatic Way of Crochet. It has also led me to ask what might happen when we sit beside one another and create something for the places we share.
